The photo series Personal Stills is a collection of still life photographs of several fruits and vegetables. The series is inspired by family traditions, where each of the presented produce is grown by my parents and harvested by me from their own garden. For several generations, the independent cultivation of food has been in the everyday life of our family. Especially for migrant families, food plays a special role in understanding their own identity. During the summer, I decided to create a project on personal experiences and spend some weeks collecting a variety of our own food as a starting point. To emphasize the personal connection in this work, I staged the produce in a setting inspired by the learned professions of my parents.
