The Image Sensor

DSCF2866

The Image Sensor deals with the transformation of a phenomenon into visual imagery. The work shows an exploration of an iridescence material through various image-capturing processes. Iridescence is a phenomenon of certain surfaces that gradually change in color as the viewing angle shifts. For this project, a transparent iridescent foil was rolled up and lit from two sides. Images of the staged foil were captured through selected digital and analog photographic processes; such as digital photography, video, scanning, 35mm film and instant film photography. From various experiments with a single sheet of this foil, a selection of images is presented for this project.
